Hwanghae-do Province; An administrative district, do, or a province of North Korea located in the central western part of the Korean Peninsula; it is known as a producer of rice, apples, and croaker, and is also famous for its hot springs; it is currently divided into Hwanghaenam-do, or South Hwanghae Province, and Hwanghaebuk-do, or North Hwanghae Province.
